Facts:

They've endured the loss of two co-founding members of the band, and been dropped by their record label in 2001, but that hasn't stopped the Sugababes from being the 'Most Successful Female UK Act of the Century". Now in their third line-up, Amelle Berrabah (Mutya Buena's 2005 replacement), Heidi Range (Siobhan Donaghy's 2001 replacement) and Keisha Buchanan have a rather impressive record of six UK Number One singles (Freak Like Me, Round Round, Hole In The Head, Push The Button, Walk This Way and About You Now), a string of various awards (including a Brit Award, a Q Award and two TMF Awards), and over five million album sales in the UK alone.

They also have more Top Ten singles than the Spice Girls, All Saints, Destiny's Child or Bananarama, and more Top Ten hits with original songs than any girl group since The Supremes. They're also the first girl group since the 1980s to release more than three hit albums - trouncing Destiny's Child, The Three Degrees, the Spice Girls and The Bangles. With massive success outside of the UK too (particularly in Europe), is it any wonder they're the world's favourite girlband?

The Line-ups:

[Siobhan Donaghy, Mutya Buena, Keisha Buchanan]
1998-2001

The band was founded when schoolfriends, Keisha and Mutya, attended a party in which they met Siobhan. The girls later headed for the recording studio where they made One Touch, their Top 30 debut album. Four Top 40 singles and many concerts later, Siobhan quit the band to concentrate on a solo career. At this point the band's label dropped the group too, leaving the future of Sugababes in scraps. Her reasons for leaving where due to tensions between Keisha, although she has stated several times in interviews that herself and Mutya get along just fine and have remained friends.

2002-2005

A new member, a new #1 single and a new hit album later and Sugababes were officially back. Who saved them from splitting up and disappearing from the face of the earth? Heidi Range and Island Records would be the answer to that... The new band lineup impressed the general public so much so that the girls laster a further 3 years of spawning hit singles, albums and tours, before another member decided to leave.

After enjoying being part of the band since the beginning, Mutya decided to quit. She felt it was a time to re-evaluate her career and do different things. This being that she concentrated on a solo career, like Siobhan. Since leaving Sugababes, Mutya has met up with Keisha only once but is yet to see Heidi.

[Keisha Buchanan, Heidi Range, Amelle Berrabah]
2006-Present

After the depature of Mutya, Heidi and Keisha had no plans to end the group. Their manager recruited in Amelle Berrabah almost immediately; a struggling singer who was desperate to make it big in the music business. It was only normal that fans received Amelle with a mixed reception, although all negative thoughts disappeared fairly quickly.

Some may say, like the group themselves, this is the best line-up of Sugababes yet. Although, who knows what the future holds? Let's hope it's only good things...
