Amelle recently spoke to the Daily Record, in what I find to be a very moving interview about her tough road to success. This article is actually from the end of last month, but due to the website being offline, I was unable to post about it then. You can read it here now.
There is also an interesting interview with Digital Spy UK from earlier in the week, of which you can read here, plus a feature with Now Magazine which is online here.
Zakiya (Amelle's sister) is featured in the current edition of New Magazine, where she talks about her recent problems in life, and how Amelle has helped her in her struggles. I'll hopefully get a scan uploaded in the gallery shortly.
Click here to have your chance of catching the 'Babes performing at Live At The Local on October 20th. The intimate gig will be held in Birmingham, and it'll be one of the first to showcase material from Catfights And Spotlights.
The Sugababes have been nominated at this year's UK Festival Awards 2008, and they need your help if they're going to bag the award! Click here to give them your support in the Best Festival Pop Act category.
Anyone who saw the girls live this year at their Change tour (or one of their summer festivals) will know that they definitely deserve this award, so please make sure you give them your vote!
I just thought I'd let those of you who missed tonight's Al Murray's Happy Hour know that the 'Babes performed Girls, About You Now and Bohemian Rhapsody, originally recorded by Queen. I'm hoping videos from the show will be online soon, and as soon as I get them, I'll be sure to add them to the site.
Here is another video from a recent press meeting with Amelle and Keisha, this time for The Mirror. It's a really interesting interview, which has some nice teasers about the new album, and what happened when Mutya left the band:
Sugababes are turning their back on pop in a bid to become a modern-day version of Sixties Motown stars The Supremes.
Keisha Buchanan, Amelle Berrabah and Heidi Range have banned pop from new album Catfights And Spotlights for the more soulful sound that made Diana Ross and her band famous with hits such as Baby Love.
Heidi said: “There aren’t any pop songs on the album. We’ve been really inspired by The Supremes and that’s the direction we want to go in now.”
Feisty Keisha said: “Pop is great but we’re moving on and experimenting with a more mature sound.”
I'd like to welcome you all to Sugatime - Version 16, which has been created by the wonderful W2K Designs. It's been 4 whole years since the website officially launched, so I thought it was time for a complete change. I'm very sorry about the slightly extended hiatus, but I was having some issues with PHP, and in the end I decided to stick to HTML. Anyway, I hope you all like what you see. Please leave me some feedback in the comments!
Once again, I'd like to thank Wayne for producing such a beautiful layout - it has to be my favourite one yet!
There is loads still to be done throughout various pages, but I'll be working on them throughout the next few days.
