It seems like the drama never stops in Sugababes camp these days, and now we have a fresh rumour to prove it. According to several press websites, the reason the release date for Sweet 7 has been pushed back to February is because Amelle has chosen to leave the band, and Island Records are unsure of what to do next within the group.
Although I'd love to say this is completely untrue, you can never be sure what is going to happen when it comes to the 'Babes: who would ever have expected Keisha to be kicked out!?
However, another reason for the postponement of the new album could simply be down to Amelle's depression. She may not be ready to return to the stresses of work right now, and although there will be people out there who believe that it would have been more practical for Amelle to have left instead of Keisha, that has simply not been the case.
It is very important that the girls fit in as much promotion as possible in the lead up to the release of their new record, and if that means that it is held off until next year, then so be it. I'm sure we will all appreciate it in the long run when Amelle, Jade and Heidi are happily performing on stage again. A lot of money has also been spent on the recording of the new material - and on top of the re-recording charges for Jade - so of course Island are looking to make the best profit possible.
The website reporting the information regarding the pushing back of Sweet 7 are affiliated with Sugababes.com, so despite an official statement is yet to be made, it seems that the February release is infact true.
If V4.0 really do want to prove themselves as a band then I personally believe they'll stick it together until all is well - Amelle included. Otherwise, the Sugababes will be well and truly over. |
